Here is a little bit about the story I’m writing.  It’s about a gray wolf named Thunder Foot.  He gets kicked out of his pack and meets a girl named Kaya.  They’ve become 2 unlikely friends.  They must fight Thunder Foot’ s arch nemesis, Ragnorock. Later the 2 find out there are poachers!  They must tell the pack before time runs out!  It’s a story of adventure!  I’m not done yet but check back daily to see more.

 Thunder Foot

My name is Thunder Foot and I’m going to tell you about the biggest adventure of my life.  One day I got kicked out of my pack.  I was walking in the woods when I saw an odd object.  It looked somewhat like my old house, except this one was made of wood and had windows.  There was something inside.  It had long, black hair on its head.  It was tall, and wore clothes.  I went 3 feet closer–another thing appeared.  I backed up.  It looked at me, frowned, and spoke to the other.  I couldn’t hear it.  One looked back at me again, and went.  I watched the home for several more minutes.  I was about to leave when the thing with black hair walked near the window with something.  Somehow it opened the wood which I would later learn was a door.  It went outside.  I waited.  It came until it was just arms length away.  It reached out and put its paw (which I would later learn was not a paw but a hand) near my nose.  I sniffed it.  Waited.  Then I licked it.

 It smiled and scratched my ear.  I smiled a little.  It took something out of a bag:  it smelled wonderful!  It pulled out some big, juicy food.  And it gave it to me!  It didn’t hog it to itself!  It handed it to me.  I took it without hesitation.  It tasted more delicious than it smelled!  It was wonderful, it was delicious, it was liver!  Yeah, I know you probably hate liver–but man, it’s good! 

I sat and smiled.  It smiled back.  At first I couldn’t understand and cocked my head to one side.  Then it started speaking slower.  It said, “Hi, my name is Kaya.  What’s yours?”  Without thinking, I said “Thunder Foot.”  Her smile faded; she backed up.  I frowned, then I realized it:  I could understand it and it could understand me!  I backed up.  Kaya said, “How can you talk?!” in a shakey voice.  I said, “I don’t know, but what are you?”  Kaya’s eyebrows raised.  “I’m a human,” she said.  “You’re welcome,”  she said.  “Uh-oh!  My dad’s coming!  Hide!  I gotta go!” she said.  I did.

 Her dad came.  “Who were you talking to?” her dad asked.  “I wasn’t talking to anyone,” Kaya said.  “Alright, but it’s time to go in,” said her father.  Kaya’s dad went in. 

“See those rocks over there?  Go live there so I can give you food and talk with you later, okay?”  said Kaya.  I agreed.  I went over.  Kaya gave me more liver and went. 

The next day Kaya came back with some ham.  “Here you go,” said Kaya.  I thanked her.  “So, why aren’t you with your pack?  You look like a leader?”

“I was a leader, then I got kicked out.”

“Wow, I feel bad for you.”  We talked.

“How did you get kicked out?” she asked.

“Mozart had just come home with a rabbit, and I was so hungry, so I ate it.”

“That’s all?”

“Yep.”

“Wow.”

“I know.”

We started walking in the woods.  “Wait!  I smell something!” I warned.

“What is it?!”

“Ragnorock!!!”  I shouted, just as my enemy from the old pack leaped out.  He had envied me because he wanted to be leader of the pack.  If it weren’t for me, he’d be leader. 

“Kaya, get behind me!”  I shouted.

She ran behind me.  “Aw, protecting your girlfriend?  What about Mozart?  I thought you liked her?!”  Ragnorock mocked.

“She’s not my girlfriend!”  I growled.

Ragnorock started to pace around me. 

“I’ve never had little girl before, can we eat it?”  asked one.

“I wonder how it tastes?”

“Is it juicy?”

“Why haven’t you eaten it yet?” chimed the wolves.

“If you aren’t hungry let me have it!”  Ragnorock growled.

“No!” I hissed.

“Why not?  Is she your girlfriend?” Ragnorock snickered.

“Go away, Ragnorock,” I said.

“Noone tells me, leader of the pack, to go away!” hissed Ragnorock.

“Pack leader?” I yelled, confused.

“You haven’t heard?  After you attacked those puppies, I became leader!” cackled Ragnorock.

“You attacked puppies!”  said Kaya.

“Well, I guess you found out,” I sighed.

“Why?!”

 ”I didn’t mean to!  They were fighting and I tried to break up the fight; one of them bit my tail on accident and my instincts made me whirl around and attack.”

“Ha!  A likely story!”  chuckled Ragnorock.

“Shut up!”  I shouted.

Ragnorock bounded for me while saying, “Don’t say that to me!” 

I jumped.  Then we started to attack one another!  Jump right!  Jump left!  Bite!  Scratch!  Howl!  We stopped for a breather.  We both were tired, but would still fight!  We both bounded at each other at the same time.  Ragnorock was at my neck in an instant!  If it weren’t for Kaya, I probably wouldn’t be here today. 

I was lucky Kaya packed a lunch!  She threw some butter and I was able to wriggle out!  Kaya quickly took out some salt.  Before anything else, I closed my eyes.  At that moment, Ragnorock lunged.  It was the perfect time to kill me, but the reason I closed my eyes wasn’t fear, it was safety:  Kaya hurled the salt in Ragnorock’s direction.  At the last moment, the salt hit him in the eye.  He yowled in pain and only managed to scratch my ear.  I quickly took the opportunity and attacked!

I didn’t kill him.  I just prevented him from doing further harm.  He limped back in to the forest and left me alone.

Kaya and I walked on, talking about ourselves.  We came across a bullfrog, 3 squirrels, and a bird.  I didn’t hurt them though because Kaya was around.  We headed on.  It started to rain, so we went in to an abandoned cave.  A light rain turned into a raging storm.  I was worried.  How would Kaya get back home!  I went out to see how dark it was: it was pitch black!  Only animals with night vision could see!

If it weren’t for me having night vision, she would have been in that cave the whole night!  You see, I’m a wolf and wolves have night vision.  I told Kaya to come out with me, to put her hand on my side and keep it there.  I led her back home.  Thank goodness Ragnorock wasn’t there–he would have killed Kaya!

Back at Kaya’s house I had to hide.  Kaya’s dad burst through the door.  He started talking to Kaya.  I didn’t hear what he said because they went inside.  I slept underneath Kaya’s deck with: a family of rabbits, 10spiders, 2 chipmunks, and a squirrell.  I slept soundly that night and awoke to 2 chipmunks up my nose!  They were head-first in my nose!!!

I later found out the chipmunks’ names were Fred and Chip.

“What are you doing?!!!” I half snarled, half yelled.

“Chip dared me to go up your nose, so I dared him to go up your nose, so now we need a bath” Fred said.

“Well, I dare you to go in to my mouth and down my throat!” I snarled.

“Okay, okay, we get it,”said Chip.

“No need to kill us!” said Fred.

A spider went down in front of me and said, “Don’t blame Chip and Fred.  They may be airheads, but that doesn’t mean you should hurt them,” she said.

“Yeah!” said Chip.

Fred whacked Chip over the head with his paw, “You nut, she said we were airheads!” Fred said.

“I’m sorry.  I never got your name,” said the spider.

“My name is Thunder Foot.  What’s yours?”

“My name is Emerald,” said the spider.

“Well, nice to meet you Emerald,” I said.

“Nice to meet you, Thunder Foot,” Emerald said.

“So, how’d a bi–”….  Emerald hadn’t had time to say anthing else before Chip interrupted her.

“Ap! Ap! Ap!  Let’s chitter-chatter more and Thunder Foot go away!

“Chip!!!” Emerald said.

“Naw, it’s okay,” I said.

“I’m hungry and if I get much hungrier, I’ll eat Chip and Fred!”

I went outside, stretched a little, and found a stake that had a letter on it.  It said, “Here’s breakfast everyone!”  To the side of the stake, there were: 4 chesnuts, bird feed, 2 dead cockroaches, and some almonds.  I toldeveryone breakfast was here.  At first Chip thought I meant I was going to eat him!

I saw Kaya look out the window and smile.  She got dressed and came out.  She said hi to Chip, Fred, Emerald, the bird, and the squirrel.  Then she flicked Chip on the head (apparently she had seen him up my nose).  She stroked the bird, then went over to me.  We said hi then we started walking and talking.  We started walking in to the woods.  We saw a deer, but I didn’t hurt it.
